Create a Sitting Garden and Rest Your Brain

A bench or a chair creates the simplest of Sitting Gardens. The gardens I create are designed to invite you to pause and linger. Invite you to engage your senses. Even if just for a few minutes. Turns out that research indicates that the “pause” is important to rest you brain. Resting your brain allows you to process your experiences. Lingering and tuning into your senses invites your body to relax and breath deep. Sitting in the garden invites a “mini-restoration” experience. Some people call this experience ‘Forest Bathing”.

Listen to birds, notice the textures and color, feel the breeze or sunlight touching your skin, smell the fragrance of flowers. Lingering and tuning into your senses invites your body to relax and breath deep. A Sitting Garden invites a “mini-restoration” experience.

The Importance of a Well-Designed Garden

A well-designed garden rests your brain and engages your senses. It also creates paths and patios, retains slopes with walls, four season landscapes, flower gardens, a sitting garden, places to entertain and play, and so much more.
