When you drive up to your house, do you feel a sense of welcome and peace? Or is it overgrown and chaotic or sterile? Your winter entry garden can make a difference on how you feel about your house and yourself.

Discover how to create an inviting winter entry garden.

Trees and shrubs shape your home’s appearance, highlighting or softening its best architectural features. These woody plants bring structure to your winter landscape and add depth and balance to your flower garden.

Learn how to make your entry garden special and inviting

Start with the essential woody plant framework for your garden.

In this three-week design workshop course, explore winter layout, structure, and plant pairing, then design a working garden plan using your photos and measurements. Take the summer or fall design class to add perennials to your garden.

Each week includes, in-class learning, hands-on activities, and a tutorial walk that follows a weekly lecture onsite at the Garden. Dress for the weather and for walking over rolling terrain and mulched paths.

Classes are rain or shine.
