Thoroughly enjoyed my morning at the Boston Flower Show, so much lovely color to our winter starved eyes. Okay, I’m talking color and tons of flowers, yet the image I chose displays huge stones and plantings to create a wonderful garden room. Note the suggested walls, windows, and floor. And this landscape’s got a little of everything– a deciduous weeping maple whose shape works even without its leaves, different shapes, texture, and colored foliage conifers, and a few spring bulbs and green ferns and moss. This garden composition works all year round. As a designer, I might add a few more spring flowering bulbs, spring and summer perennials and flowering shrubs in keeping with the design. Then I can imagine it as a prime view from a selected window.
