I’ve just updated the plantings with some fall blooming mums and asters on the steps and landing. But I’ve loved this foliage tapestry that greets me daily all thru the seasons.  Now the richness of color, contrast, and detail of form in the foliage combination reflects a fall garden in that the large purple aster is coming into bloom. The Joe Pye Weed is going by and looking a bit weedy but still adds texture and color.  The purple foliage of the dwarf weigela, blue foliage of the dwarf blue conifer, and the variegated aralia is the main components now with everything else working with them. Like the white climbing rose that puts out a bloom here and there at this time of year.  And the extravagantly blooming pink fairy roses that nudge into the left edge of the photograph. Makes me happy to see them all.
