Come learn with me! Design Your Winter Garden for Yourself.

Below follows the catalogue description for my virtual workshop- type class via the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. (masshort.org) February 10 & 17th with a Bressingham Garden site visit February 11th.

Empower yourself as you learn about how to make planting lay-outs and plant choices to make a winter garden design lay-out that will add visual interest to your front or back gardens. Later, the winter garden design lay-out, will add to your spring thru fall planting and seasonal flowering. Create a garden that busts your stress.

Winter Garden

You’ll choose a small area to work on in class. First you’ll start with a list of existing plants that give you joy. Take photographs.

Slide Lectures and in class exercises will show you how. And then class time to use the techniques to create your own.

Then I’ll help each student with an individual review of your attempt and suggestions to help you achieve your dream winter garden.

Designing the Winter Landscape (Catalogue Description)

Maria von Brincken will help you design an outdoor space that uses texture, color, and mass planting to create visual interest throughout the winter. Winter gardens also create a backdrop for seasonal flower gardens. Featuring our Bressingham Garden, her design work, and others, Maria will introduce you to lay-out and plant lists that will inspire your garden planning during these cold months. There will be class time for you to experiment with winter planting combinations and layout that could work in your own gardens.

This is a three day workshop, taking place virtually and onsite at The Gardens at Elm Bank.

Virtual Dates – February 10th & 17th, 10am-2pm
